Knowledge Base content and imports

Add documents, import files or sites, connect managed sources, and recover draft refreshes.

Where to find it

Choose Knowledge Bases in the main navigation, open the collection, and select Content.

Address: /knowledge-bases/:id. Open the saved resource from the product rather than typing this address.

Add content

  1. Open the knowledge base and select Content.
  2. Choose Add content and select a document, file, URL, sitemap, or managed source.
  3. Enter the fields for that source. A directly entered document includes a title, HTML content, optional stable source reference, and sensitivity.
  4. For a file, choose an HTML, Markdown, or text file smaller than 2 MB.
  5. Review document access when approved connections exist.
  6. Select Add to draft, Start import, or Connect source, as shown for the selected mode.

Monitor and refresh

Inspect import jobs and source state in Content. URL and sitemap imports can have scheduled refresh intervals where supported. A completed import or refresh updates draft content; it does not replace the live release. Revalidate and publish when the reviewed changes are ready.

Restrict a document

Choose all approved connections or only selected active connections. A selected-connections policy requires at least one valid connection. An edited access policy is saved to the draft and applies only after a new release is validated and published.

Recover a failed import

Inspect the job's failure and use its correction or retry flow. Correct the URL, file, access, or source issue first. Keep successful documents and the current live release. Previously selected connections may have been revoked; choose current active connections before saving.

Disconnect a managed source

Use Disconnect & pause only after reviewing its confirmation. It pauses the entire knowledge base immediately: the HTML endpoint and active tool grants stop working, and that source's documents are removed from the draft. This is not just pausing one import.

To recover through the page, prepare, test, and publish a replacement release that no longer includes the disconnected source. Publication keeps the base paused; then choose Resume explicitly. Resume refuses a published release containing disconnected or unready source content. Recheck each affected consumer after resuming. If you need to restore the original source binding, contact support: the current page does not offer a restore-binding action. See release availability.
