Credentials

Create named secret references, inspect consumers, rotate values, and remove credentials safely.

Where to find it

Open Account > Credentials.

Address: /account/credentials.

Create and find a credential

Choose New credential to open New library credential. Enter a permanent Key, a human-readable Label, the credential value in its secret input, and a description when useful. The key starts with a lowercase letter, uses lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores, and has at most 63 characters. Choose Create credential and confirm it appears in the list.

Use Search credentials, Credential type, and Credential usage to find an existing reference. Open it to inspect Type, created/last-rotated information, Used in, and any rotation reasons. Stored values are write-only; this drawer does not provide a readable secret or version-history picker.

Rotate the active value

  1. Prepare the replacement using the provider's authorized credential process.
  2. Review Used in so you know which connections depend on this reference.
  3. Choose Rotate value and enter Replacement credential value in the secret input. Use the supported JSON input only when that connection expects it.
  4. Choose Rotate. This updates the active stored reference and bound connections immediately; there is no staged version-promotion or pre-promotion test step in this page.
  5. Check the intended consumers after rotation. Handle revoking the old provider credential in that provider's interface after verification; Topline has no Revoke control here.

Cancel abandons the replacement form. If rotation fails, inspect the saved last-rotated state and consumers before retrying. Do not put values into ordinary chat, documentation, source code, or support packets.

Make a private credential reusable

Make shared appears for a connection-private credential and moves it into the reusable credential library. It changes sharing/reuse scope, not which version is active. Do not use it as a rotation step; confirm that the wider reuse is intended.

Delete safely

Review Used in and remove or replace consumer references before deleting. A remaining consumer can block removal. Deleting the Topline reference does not revoke the external provider credential. Verify the resulting list and any affected connections after a deletion.
