# Workspace sharing and access

Choose who can collaborate in a workspace and understand the access inherited by its contents.

## Where to find it

Choose **Apps & Workspaces** and open the intended workspace.

Address: `/projects/:projectId`. Open the saved resource from the product rather than typing this address.

## Share with a teammate

1. Open the exact workspace and choose **Share** or **Sharing & access**.
2. In **Add people**, choose a teammate.
3. Choose **Permission**: **Viewer** for reading or **Editor** for creating and editing artifacts.
4. Choose **Add** to stage the person in the list. This does not save access yet.
5. Review the people and roles, then choose **Save access**.
6. Reopen sharing to verify the saved list. Use **Copy workspace link** to give the recipient the address yourself; saving sends no email.

## Choose general access

**Restricted** limits the workspace to its independent grants. **Everyone in your company · Viewer** lets company members read its artifacts, including drafts and version history. Read the audience warning, choose **Confirm company access**, then **Save access**. Confirmation alone is not persistence. **Cancel audience change** backs out of that audience choice.

Workspace sharing does not share private conversations. Share a thread through its own controls. For one artifact, use [Topline access](/docs/artifact-topline-access); for a finished app only, use [live access](/docs/artifact-live-access).

## Change or remove access

Change a person's role or remove them from the staged list, then choose **Save access**. Independent scope or direct artifact grants can still apply. The strongest applicable collaboration role wins. A workspace Editor does not become the owner of every artifact: each artifact's owner controls its sharing and deletion. Workspace symbols and bound skills remain owner settings.

## Recovery

If the teammate directory fails, use **Retry teammates**. If saving reports an error, reopen or refresh the saved access before retrying: part of the change may have succeeded. **Cancel** discards unsaved choices. A copied link does not bypass permissions.
