# Workspace settings and symbols

Maintain workspace names, descriptions, maintenance guidance, and symbols.

## Where to find it

Choose **Apps & Workspaces** and open the intended workspace.

Address: `/projects/:projectId`. Open the saved resource from the product rather than typing this address.

## Maintain the workspace

As the owner, use the **Rename workspace** pencil beside the workspace title. Enter the name and press Enter or leave the field to save; Escape cancels. Edit the **Overview** description and confirm it saved. The page does not expose a separate Instructions field. Keep durable guidance in its maintenance documents, particularly **Agent practices**; use chat for temporary requests.

The maintenance editor organizes **Overview**, **Architecture**, **Interfaces**, **Operations**, **Agent practices**, and **Decisions and risks**. Put a change in the matching document field so readers can find it. **Notes/Capabilities** manages bound skills rather than free-form instructions.

## Change a workspace symbol

As the owner, open the workspace menu and choose **Workspace symbol**. Upload a square PNG, JPEG, WebP, or GIF smaller than 10 MB, or choose **Use default** to restore the generated symbol. The image is saved as a tenant asset. Shared viewers can see it but cannot change it.

If upload or save fails, the current symbol remains unchanged. Retry after checking the file and ownership. For an artifact's symbol, follow [artifact settings](/docs/artifact-settings) instead.

## Permissions and recovery

Workspace symbol and owner settings require ownership. If saving fails, reopen the same workspace and check the saved value before retrying. Missing controls can indicate shared access rather than ownership.
