# Knowledge Bases

Create a document collection and manage its content, quality, published release, and connections.

## Where to find it

Choose **Knowledge Bases** in the main navigation.

Address: `/knowledge-bases`.

## Create and open a knowledge base

Open **Knowledge Bases** from navigation. Create a collection with a specific name and purpose, then open its detail page. New content stays in draft until validated and published.

## Choose a section

| Section | What you do |
| --- | --- |
| Overview | Review current release, draft changes, validation, and release actions |
| Content | Add documents, import content, manage sources and refreshes, and set document access |
| Quality | Test retrieval and complete publishing requirements |
| Connections | Configure audience, endpoints, and approved app or workspace connections |
| Milestones | Review release, connection, source-sync, and update timestamps |

## Publish your first useful collection

1. Add content in [Content](/docs/knowledge-base-content).
2. Validate the draft and complete required [Quality tests](/docs/knowledge-base-quality).
3. Review and [publish the candidate](/docs/knowledge-base-releases).
4. Configure and verify its [Connections](/docs/knowledge-base-connections).

Knowledge Bases contain published document collections. Company Knowledge contains reviewed company facts and policy; preferences guide assistant behavior. These are separate surfaces.

## Access and recovery

Read, manage, and publish actions depend on account capabilities. A missing control does not imply the published release is absent. If a collection fails to load, use **Try again** or return to **Knowledge Bases**. Archived collections preserve content while disabling endpoints and tool grants.
